Small cubs, when taken away from the mother are usually weak. If the mother is capable to produce milk, the cubs stay with her to ensure the cubs' survival. We give them a special milk formula. At the age of about 6 weeks, we start giving a mixture of minced meat together with the milk. At the age of about 10 weeks, the cubs are ready to enjoy only meat and occasionally they get some milk. The lions eat any red meat, including cattle, horse and donkey (At times chicken can be found on the menu) Meat gets donated by farmers in the area, but there are times when we must buy meat.
